Our Story

St.Mark Orthodox Church was founded and given status as a mission parish by Bishop Boris of the Chicago Diocese in 1980.  Father Andrew Yavornitzky served from 1987-2020. The early parishoners worshipped at Avondale Nursing Center, and we continue to remember them yearly at Christmas when we visit to sing carols and give gifts to the residents there

Father Demitrie Vincent current serves as interim Priest.

Our location on Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills was built in 2000. St Mark is under the jurisdiction of the Midwest Diocese, as part of the Orthodox Church in America (oca)

We are a Christian community reborn through the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  As we head into the future we will continue our efforts to grow in faith, love, and spiritual understanding through our worship, witness, community involvement, education, stewardship, and missions.
